Local dance rockers The Laughing are back from the jungle with a new EP, new members, and a big idea for the August 22 release party this Friday at Club Deville. Check it:
From John at Party Ends!:
“The band is putting out this EP on Austin’s Artifact Workshop boutique imprint in a interesting way: throughout the night of the release show artist Bryan Keplesky will be painting a mural of cd sleeves which will make up the album art. The Laughing playing that night will christen it , as it were. Those who grab an album will have a one of a kind piece of art which will no doubt be much more gratifying that just ripping it from your co-workers iTunes. The one of a kind EPs will be available at all independent local record stores the next day as well as on the label’s website….”
The band has also added some new members to the tiger cry crew- Ryan on samples and synth, and Sean on bass, who will no doubt be adding something great to their already distinctly different compositions, or jungle smut-core as they are dubbing it. Besides releasing their new EP Jungle to the animals this Friday, they will be playing with two of the best locals as well- Magic Surprise and The Cari & Jason Band (members of Belaire).
Live art + EP release + Jungle-smut core + good openers + strong drinks at Deville= the ONLY PLACE you need TO BE this FRIDAY.

What the fuck(Yes, I’m spelling it out)! Where did the old sax/bass player go? I checked their myspace page and it is like he never existed. My not knowing his name doesn’t help. How can he be replaced? I guess I will have to check the EP release show to see if the new members can compensate but what the fuck?
