You know sometimes when you don’t see someone for a long time and then you do and you’re like, ‘damn their awesome’, Friday was sort of like that. Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears played to a packed house at the Parish. It had been a while since I had seen them play- still a buncha bad-motha-shut-yo-mouths. In case you missed one of the best live acts in town, Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears will be playing the Hot Sauce Festival next Sunday, August 24 at Waterloo Park.

Things I learned this weekend:

-Vinyl Entertainment throws great rooftop parties with Do512 and The Saturday Night Matador.

-The Story Of is going to be filmed by MTV2 this Thursday, August 21 at Stubb’s with Vinyl Dharma and A Faulty Chromosome.

-Dear MTV2, if you’re not first you’re last.

-Dripping Springs makes vodka now, and its actually good.

-Everyone should go see a DJ that uses vinyl- The Saturday Night Matador, tonight at Beauty Bar.
