Peachcake plays Emo’s inside tonight. It’s hard to not love Peachcake the first time you seem them, even though they seem sort of novelty-actish when they first roll out with those animal masks and strange yellow felt panda/horse/dino suits. But their energy is dynamic enough that they have driven full grown adults into games of limbo on the glass ridden floors of Emo’s. Besides who is going to hate an anti-war, pro-mixtape campaign? The armed and digital? And if you show up with a mix (any format) you get discounts on peachmerch*, as I’m dubbing it. More details here.

Peachcake will be joined by JC & Co. (members of Belaire & Voxtrot), who will be having their 7″ release. Pending super band status? This band is made up of Alan Schaffer (The Black), Matt Simon (Voxtrot), Chad Salls (Color), Cari Palazzolo (Belaire), and Jason Chronis (Voxtrot). They should throw that chick from Yellow Fever in there too, she’s good.

Peachcake and JC & Co. play with Breathless, and Bear Claw.

***Peachcake has played Austin a few times this year, but their most memorable performance for me was last year at the Soundcheck Summer Showcase with Clap! Clap! and The Octopus Project, (pics). Remember Clap! Clap!? They were all adorable and too big to fit in one picture together, now they are all in other acts like Haunting Oboe Music, The Always Already, DJ Rubix, and PURPLE MAJICK. Reunion show should be in the works in the next few years, where you at clap-clappers…
