English punk trio The Cribs are playing a handful of U.S. tour dates this fall, and will be stopping by Austin September 17 at Emo’s outside. These brothers have been playing together since they were all of 3 years old. They were also one of the highlights of my SXSW this year, when they played with The Black Keys and HEALTH at LaZona Rosa.
I would suspect most people could recognize a Crib’s song after hearing one once and enjoying it, that rough, thrown together sound and loose vocal delivery is the most recognizable and enduring part of their music. In the midst of their chaotic, often barefoot, live shows, that unrefined element has always made them seem more human than rock star. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, August 1 at 10 a.m., right here. Go see the Cribs.
I couldn’t decide which version of “Men’s Needs” I liked better, so I put them both up, check it:
The Cribs - Men’s Needs (CSS remix)
