« Magic Surprise, New Track from Phoenix

I ran across this little band last week thanks to Sonya, and I have been listening to them steadily since. Magic Surprise sounds like something that could be from the DFA fam, with a little less punch. They also sort of gave me the Datarock vibe with those 80’s guitars and synth. All that = good.
Magic Surprise is playing tomorrow night with the Coke Dares and Awesome Cool Dudes at the Mohawk. It’s always hard to tell if a band like this will put on a good live performance- hopefully it will be of the over-dramatic low-fi pop is rock n’ roll flavor.

Sorta related in that electro-indie-pop crossover kinda way:
Ran into this while looking for some new bling… Phoenix has an exclusive free download from their new unreleased album on Cartier, peep it here.
