Tanya Morgan is a rap group- not a soul singer. They are hip hop- on the rise and at its finest.
Tanya Morgan is from Brooklynati (Brooklyn + Cincinnati).
Tanya Morgan is made up of two separate acts, Von Pea and duo IlWill (Ilyas and Donwill), who met online trading demos back and forth on AIM. They eventually met in person half way through the recording of their debut album together, Moonlighting.
Tanya Morgan’s EP The Bridge is a great listen from beginning to end. Go listen to all the members separate tracks first. It brings a new appreciation to their EP, because even within Ilyas duo, lies two very different MCs, and after listening to all three’s tracks- you can hear the different personalities in every rhyme, bar, and loop.
Tanya Morgan is the opening act on the Freshly Dipped Tour, probably the best new hip hop I’ve heard lately, and are the reason to get to the show on time:
