HUG is one of those bands that is truly appreciated at a live show. Don’t get me wrong, their albums, of which they have four, are fantastic, but the live performances truly bring the music to life.
Blair Hug, as he is known to his fans, typically dons a sleeveless porno mag sport coat and pink head dress all while belting out the psych in psychedelic. Jack Hug, aka Gentleman Jack, picks at the guitar in a skirt that guarantees to expose the highest of all possible inner thigh hairs. The prompter of the drum machine and finger-dancer on the keys, or the Casioist, is the sombrero-wearing madman Scott Van Hug. As if this trio was not enough feast for the eyes, you will be delighted by an interpretive dancing duo that outlines the stage. Words can do them no justice. Altogether, HUG is a band you must see to believe.
